If you are looking for a rare dining experience this is the place for you. Intriguing drink menu including Mai-Tai and Mimosa. Excellent service (Thank you Cally) and food prepared to perfection. I had the lamb and my better half ordered the pork. Variety of dessert selections including my favourite Creme Brulee. You won't be sorry if you dine here.
I had the bison and wild boar burger and it was exceptional. The waitress was very friendly and the atmosphere is very quaint. It has a cozy feeling inside and there's an deck out back by the lake. Very nice place for a family meal
My wife and I were in North Bay with our 8 year old grandson. I did a search for restaurants in the area that offer gluten free options for our Grandson. The White Owl came up that they have gluten free options on their menu. The waitress offered that the chef could do a hamburger from their lunch menu and replace the bum with gluten free bread. The hamburger looked liked a burnt hockey puck. Our grandson took two bits and he left most of it for me. It tasted burnt. My wife liked her meal, but I was a little disappointed with my northern perch offering, considering the price. I just ask that the restaurant would be more up front what they offer as gluten free options.
On our Fall Colours and Remembrances of Times Past driving tour of Northern Ontario, my wife and I spent an enjoyable evening at the White Owl Bistro, which was a candy store and ice cream parlour when her family spent summer holidays on Trout Lake in the 1960s. I chose the roast chicken pomodore pasta and she, the Manitoulin rainbow trout with pineapple-lime salsa which included enough veggies to please any piscatorian. Both meals were delicious. We ended the meal with a shared dessert - blueberry crumble and vanilla ice cream. It would have been better served warm or hot. The service was excellent. Wed like to return next summer for a meal on the pretty, flower-lined patio overlooking Lake Nipissing.
Absolutely wonderful. The food, wine, outside patio and the service by Wesley was amazing. Can't wait for my next visit to the owl.
